****REPOST FROM EA PLAY FORUMS

Release Date: October 2006
Demo Date: October 2006 - possibly 10-15 days prior the Release date.
Beta Release: Beginning of August 2006

FactionsThe Pan Asian Coalition VS the European Union.

Weapons
Weapons of Battlefield 2142, listed by faction and use.
Each class has its own weapon or item.

Both Armies
Utilities

KnifeThe knife is the last resort weapon. It makes no noise and usually kills in one hit, sometimes two. So its perfect if you can sneak up to your enemy and take him out that way, it saves ammo and does not give you away. If you manage to knife somebody, you get his Dog Tags, as proof of you being able to knife that soldier.

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Dogtags.01.jpg

Every player has dogtags with him. Another player can get them from you, when he kills you, using a knife. No other weapon allows you to do this.

PDD-200 (Detecion) The PDD-200 is a short- to medium-range detection device that allows Support soldiers to scan for enemies through objects

IT-33 (Camouflage) The IT-33 active camouflage system enables a soldier to reduce his visibility by up to 90%. Has a 10 second duration and an unknown recharge time. Also allows user to cloak vehicles, but they cannont fire while cloaked.
Used mostly by Recon class.

SLSB (Spawn Beacon) The SLSB allows players to be spawned wherever the beacon is placed. Only usable for Squad Leaders. However, it is easily destroyable, and you can also be easily killed as you spawn.

Enjoy the great discussions on 2142! :)

Explosives

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/RDX.jpg

RDX (Aka C-7) Similar to its predecessor, C4, RDX is a remotely detonated, plastic-bonded, chemical explosive. RDX is also known as the C-7.

This is used by the {b]Recon class.

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/FRG.jpg

FRG
Hand-Thrown, the FRG is a modernized fragmentation grenade, substituting the traditional TNT filler with the highly volatile Composition H2.

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/EMP-Grenade.02.jpg

EMP Grenade
The EMP Grenade, or the V5, releases an electromagnetic wave that created a shot-circuit effect, temporarily disabling nearby vehicles and electronic devices.

At least two of these are needed to disable a Battle Walker for a short time.

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/APM.jpg

APM (Mine) The APM is a directional fragmentation mine generating a fan-shaped explosion pattern. This mine acts similar to a Claymore in BF2, reacting to personal that walks in front of it and the detonating. They make no damage to armored vehicles.

II-29 Magnetic (Mine) The II-29 Magnetic is a modern land-based version of the naval, moored mine, usuing a magnetic TDD (target detection device) to track on enemy vehicles. Used mainly by Engineer

European Union - Weapons

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Morretti-SR4.small.jpg

Morretti SR4 Sniper Rifle Fires a jouronium dart in a semiautomatic configuration. High accuray and high power have a drawback, a high recoil. You want to make sure every shoot hits. There is an advanced stabilization system intergrated to allow overcome muzzle drift. On distance its the weapon of choice, but wont do you much good when your target is too close.

Class: Recon
Faction: European Union

SCAR 11 Assault Rifle

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/200px-SCAR11.01.jpg

Powerful EU Assult rifle.
(Could'nt find anymore on this one yet)

Class: Assault
Faction: European Union

Binachi FA-6 Machine Gun

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Binachi.FA-6.small.jpg

This highly efficient machinegun is created from micro-jouronium alloy, which eliminates the need to change barrels completely. Its computer system is sensible to heat and will interrupt firing if it overheats. In general, light machine guns are support weapons that carry a big clip and have a big stopping power and high fire rate, but are not very accurate. Good for supressing fire, clearing or guarding narrow passages and making a lot of noise.

Class: Support
Faction: European Union

Mitchell AV-1B Heavy Anti-Tank

anti Tank weapon. Some sort of rocket, as opposed to the Sudnik VP.
(Again no more additional info on this one as well)

Class: Engineer
Faction: European Union

Pan Asian Coalition - Weapons
http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Park.52.jpg

Park 52 Sniper Rifle The Park 52 has a high-magnification scope allows the sniper a long-range visual field, while an integrated bipod provides increased stability in the prone position.
This sniper rilfe has a high accuracy. It has a not so harsh recoil and as a trade off does less damage per shot than other sniper rifles. Its smart AI-IFF system lets you distinguish betwene friend and foe. The ammo is a crystal dart, fired by a laser ignition.

Class: Recon
Faction: Pan Asian Coalition

Krylov FA-37 Assault Rifle

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Krylov.FA-37.small.jpg

Highly accurate frontline infantry weapon. The Krylov FA-37 is a standart assault rifle that fires a depleted uranium armor-piercing round with considerably recoil due to its light weight and hollow graphite stock.

Class: Assault
Faction: Pan Asian Coalition

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Shuko.K-80.jpg

Shuko K-80 Machine Gun Shooting smaller, nitrocellulose-molded, caseless ammunition, the Shuko K-80 boasts higher clip capacity, resulting in less frequent reloading.
Built using the same lightwheight polymers like the Krylov FA-37. Its clip is larger than the Binachi FA-6 of the EU forces, but has a lower stopping power.

Class: Support
Faction: Pan Asian Coalition

Sudnik VP Heavy Anti-Tank

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/SudnikVP.small.jpg

The Sudnik VP fires multiple rounds of tandem, chemical-tip, tungsten carbide projectiles, capable of penetrating over two feet of steel plate.

Class: Engineer
Faction: Pan Asian Coalition

Maps
10 maps will be shipped in the initial release.
(Though that could change)?

Sidi Power Plant

Spotted on one of EA's official QA servers.
"Sidi Krir Power Plant - This is one of he largest thermal power plants in Egypt in terms of capacity".
Map Below

Gibraltar
A heavy infantry map, including different types of vehicles.

Minsk

http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/Minsk.jpg

Most screenshots so far seem to be from the Minsk level, but there are also reports that the level seen on screenshots simply is only a testing ground, but might look similar to what Minsk will be like. The area looks snowy so its close to where the ice already invaded.
Map Below

Belgrad
http://www.ausclan.com/IPBImages/500px-Map-Belgrad.jpg

Mentioned in an article about the game. It's feel is a lot like Strike at Karkand. Narrow passages, urban warfare. Head-on conquest.
Map Below

Verdun

nice work,

in regards to the spawn beacons,
can anyone say 'spawn camping?'

if you find one why destroy it when u can hide nearby and kill enemies as they spawn off it
not saying i'd do it, but a fuckload of people will

They're sexy, aren't they?

Supposedly you'll be able to destroy a mech by throwing grenades down exhaust vents (located where? I dunno, havent seen anything obvious).
