I understand that its pre-alpha, but yet I also understand why people are refering to it as a Total Conversion. I mean, it would be the same game with a different engine so I'm gonna leave that arguement out but they really haven't done anything interesting with the future setting so far.

Vehicles:Helicopter minus blades plus jet VTOL engines. Hummer minus shell plus generic rollcage design doesn't make a new game.

Environments, uninteresting thus far,e.g grass,low rise pusedo futuristic buildings. Hope they make up some good ones in 120 days featuring towering sky scrapers. What about battles on the moon, low-grav? I mean it is the future why are they treating this game like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter?

Weapons, are ok, but really prototype weapons from 2006 still in use in 2142?

Flame my views as much as you will but with a 120 days left till release I don't think they have released any content that has gotten people excited, hell I can't sleep at night thinking about the floors of the jungle in Crysis, while Battlefield 2142 seems to be getting a loud "Meh" from the community.

stop comparing everything to half life2 . they are two totally different engines. HL2 can only support small maps and only processes what the player see's. while the battlefield engine has to supports upto 64 players, 20+ vehicles, weapon fire, over a huge expansive area all at the same time.

I would just like to point out, i have read all they are showing in terms of a map is a prototype one for testing. So that could be why it looks so crap.

A mod team can easily put a titan in bf2, so honestly thats not much of an achievement. And it does feel like a mod for BF2.

I think it will be quite a different playing style, feels a lot more ground based.

Should be interesting to see how many bf2 players actually end up playing it.

I really love EA and their "fuck testing, the fans will buy anything" logic. With the huge changes that have been made in BF2 with patches, you would think they'd want to test it BEFORE release this time, but nah, too much like hard work. I'll probably still buy it, because I like unlocks.

We cannot criticise a game before it is release and only post happy rah-rah posts becaude we havent played it yet?

I will hold off on buying it until have I seen some release s/s's even then It'll probably be changed full cirle by EA after a couple of insta-patches before be consigned to the same heap the Ef and soon AF will be BUT THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION AGGRGRGHRGRGRHR

Have you played bf2 at all? especially with the last patch? Servers are crashing multpile times in a day, sometimes in an hour, thats why most of us are meh.

My main gripe with it *SO FAR* is that there (lack off interesting environments) are no battles on the moon, hell it would make sense with the story line, fly off and colonise the moon since the Earth is screwed. Having battles on the moon would be mean.

As for how you feel about the game, you guys havent exactly been shown all that much obviously. Go to the totalbf site, see what I and other people have said, see what we've seen.

I thought bf2142 would be a pile of stagnant dog-shit too... but I've seen a lot of stuff to the contrary, and I've pretty much changed my mind. If all goes well in the BETA/demo, then I'll be buying this.
