Why dose no one play COD 2 on iconz game servers?? And can any1 tell me why i get kicked buy server sometimes sayin---- cvar=0 and how do i make it1 as requested buy server>?

Well....the main server that is used is Skankyflats CTF, download yahoo's all-seeing-eye to find servers http://videogames.yahoo.com/multiplayer
As to your problem, when your in a game enter console (the ` button on the top left of the keyboard) and type cvar (should show up once you start typing it, then press tab and change it to 1 instead of 0 and you shouldn't get kicked anymore.

Oh and also if you want people to play in ICONZ just sit in there and people will eventually join and play you.

To get people in and using the servers, what would be good is:

Required:
- Update servers to 1.3 (both WIN32 and *nix binaries are available)
- Remove the constraint of not being able to use the client console
- Add a COD2 specific pbsv.cfg (to mitigate (among other things)removing the above client console setting)

Nice to have:
- Set a map rotation that is "popular maps" as opposed stock rotation
- Install PAM2 on the SD server
- Appointed online admin(s) to deal with day to day issue(s)

Otherwise save server resources and shut them down as they will remain unused. Though it would be good if this didn't happen. CTF is largely played on the Skanky Flat server while Xtra typically has the SD players and nowhere for TDM. If the above approach was taken I would imagine that the Iconz servers could become quite favoured, especially as the resource constraints on the Xtra server infrastructure that COD2 is hosted is shocking.

Oh btw, I would be more than happy to assist in providing any info on any of the above, eg. map rotations, a PBSV.CFG file that has been ratified for use in many COD2 leagues etc.

I've been playing a bit of COD2 recently but I can never see the ICONZ servers : /

I used the Gamearena ones for a while but now I get a 700 ping on them!!

If you're having trouble downloading the maps and dont even want to play in them, goto Multiplayer Options>Enable downloading and change it to no. But if you wanna play you can only play in stock maps.

Its not that bad, but its just the waiting around when you want to get into it, but some of the new maps are pretty gud.

They're all custom from other players. Theres a modmaking kit for it, rather like Source SDK.
