Hey guys,

Need some suggestions or opinions on what you think may be causing my problem.

In BF3 my resolution is set to 1920 x 1200 which is the native res for my Dell WFP 2407 Monitor (24 inch WS). My problem is that the game doesn't seem to be forcing that resolution correctly. It says that it's at 1920 x 1200 @ 59 hz or something but it doesn't really look like it in game. Everything is bigger than it should be, and that chat box honestly takes up a quarter of the screen. The textures also look slightly blurry and not quite as sharp or defined as they were in the beta, particularly noticeable at long distances.

I'm running the game on High and it runs fine in terms of smoothness (getting about 100 fps +) but it's just quite hard to see things clearly and i lose track of enemies anytime someone chats something which is annoying.

My flatmate has his computer set up next to mine with the same size monitor (different brand) running the same resolution and his screen looks normal for that resolution.

I am running 2x GTX 560 Ti's in SLI with the latest 285.62 Nvidia drivers with a DVI connection to the monitor. Have tried disabling SLI, and changing the resolution in game to other things but they don't look correct. Have also tried disabling any scaling in the Nvidia control panel.

Did a clean install of the drivers, thinking about trying the beta ones again?

Thoughts?

I am using the exact same monitor, running at 1920x1200@59hz (as per the options in game). Am running the 285.62 drivers on SLI 580's. Works fine no issues. The chat box is quite large, currently I don't have any SS's to show for you to compare.

Will post one when I do.

Cheers dude. Yeah i know the chat box is large, but it seems to take up much more space on my screen than it does on my mates at the same resolution. I took some screenshots as well with Fraps, would be good to do a comparison. When i look at the screenshots they don't seem that bad (maybe cuz they're zoomed out)

There seem to be some issues with that monitor and scaling (ones I can barely understand TBH). But as a first port of call, have you disabled any/all monitor scaling in your monitors settings (i.e. the on-screen display)?

Here we go. Click image for full size. - See that's what it should be like! If i was to compare mine with yours, my chat box would stretch out half way across the back of the tank and down to the top of the gun.

@ Philo-sofa: Thanks for that. I didn't even know my monitor had scaling settings or issues (it's worked fine in the past for other games), i have never really touched it before just plug her in and off she goes. I disabled the scaling settings for the GPU/Monitor in NVida control panel and tried the overide game settings as well, but haven't looked at any scaling on the monitor itself. It's a DVI-DVI connection so wouldn't have thought it would be needed. There are HDMI inputs on the monitor but i might try my HDMI-DVI cable as well.

Will give it a try later.

Nope well, it appears the scaling options are disabled on my monitor. Must have an old firmware/model.

Shit out of luck it seems if it's the Monitor. I'm gonna try other drivers.

Its the game eh. Just tried Single Player and it worked fine.

Gonna try MP again now.

Ok magically working now? WTF? EA makes me play Single Player by making my graphics shit in MP so that i log in and change settings there. Random.
