View Full Version : D/C After Exactly 21 Minutes of Play

When I played BETA, without fail, I would disconnect from the server after exactly 21 minutes. I know, because Raptr told me, and it was the same every single time. I never played past that 21 minute barrier.
I assumed this was a rotation thing to give more people a chance to get on to the beta servers, but it happened to me today. I played a match on my lunch break and Disconnected 21 minutes in. Blood drained from my face. This is why I stopped playing BC2.
Tonight I will forward my ports (I shouldn't have to) and now that the ever invasive Origin is in the mix I may even try shutting down Raptr and Steam while I play.
This is a real problem that has not been acknowledged by the powers, but I know is an issue with the game. It looks like it has carried over from BC2, and knowing the company involved it wont be addressed.
Great game, no complaints there, but I know those that experience this feel it makes BF games unplayable. Fuck I hate being negative, I really do.

How much ram do you have?
Some peeps with under 8 gigs are getting this issue. ATM BF3 has a memory leak problem. Look at BF log forums and there will be a few threads about it.

Oh fuck, I use chrome, but origin opens Battlelog in Firefox!

Still happening.Tried killing Raptr and Steam. Tried forwarding all designated ports, killing AA, meshes, VSYNCH and Textures.
21 minutes, over and over again. Any other suggestions? PB was installed with the game last night.

No firewall. Maybe burglar alarm, but it shouldn't be monitored. My CPU should handle this ok, I'll check temps as a last resort.
Had uPnP enabled in my router. That's fixed the issue for a few people. Took that from a MoH beta forum. The netcode has been copy/pasted by dice for a while now apparently. Will see if this makes a difference tonight.

What is uPnP and how do I enable it? I'm getting disconnects too and not sure what could cause it :(

"Universal Plug 'n' Play" is an option in your router. If you hit "127.1.1.1" or "168.192.1.1" in your browser (or whatever your model uses) you should be able to tinker with your router directly. You want to DISABLE uPnP...

No, historically the PB thing would kick you once. The first time you'd log in. This problem is limiting sessions to exactly 20 minutes after the client starts. It's too precise to be a random issue, and there are a few people that are having the problem globally.
On the other hand, the game client actually shuts down once you are kicked, so each time technically is the first time i guess...
I fucking hate the browser interface. Not the functionality or the aesthetics, but the very nature of control it has on the whole gaming process.

open a command prompt, type ipconfig, look at gateway address, usually 192.168.1.1, go to http://192.168.1.1 (the gateway address) you will get a logon password prompt. Defaults are usually "admin" for username and password. A quick google indicates it happens on those nasty little thompson routers, but is fixed with Upnp turned off.
