View Full Version : Who's buying BF3 for the single player?

Most of the reviews coming out are saying the single player campaign is average at best, but the multiplayer is awesome.

But really who's buying it to play the single player?

Personally I think they shouldn't have bothered and just spent more time developing the multiplayer, although sounds like they have done a good enough job of that anyway.

I'm looking forward to the SP and will play it right through at least once. I'd be disappointed if they'd only developed the MP side of it.

The worse the single player the better. Just means they didn't waste too much time on it or left it to the B team.
I bet it's fine, they are just probably picking holes in it to satisfy the need to say something.

It's only there so the beginners buy the game.

My opinion is that they should have offered the co-op as the only mission based play (with a bot if need be) and had a similar setup like BF2 where you could run maps with bots...

All good though. 9/10s are pletny good enough score, I have no idea what people are complaining about.

Didn't they say it will be a tutorial for multiplayer or something. Still hope its good and not so short like moh and bc2 which seemed really short.

Real BF should not have a SP scripted experience.

Why not? You may as well say real life should not have movies

The only reason they have a scripted SP experience is for the play @ home console lumps.

BF42, BFV, BF2, BF2142 had a SP experience but it was vs bots on the MP maps.

Look at the new game mode Co-op, yet another console requirement.

Lead dev was PC - yeah right...

you can have lead dev for PC, and still have features that accommodate other platforms, you know

I'm tempted to just be a lazy f!~@# and watch someone else play the pc version on youtube, while waiting for the game to be released , from what ive seen the ai is pretty bad(no surprises there).

Yay single player zzz, co op could be more interesting.

Its like 5 hours or something.

Why wouldn't they make SP, more buyers more sales more money for the company and more to develop the next game. They are really only competing against COD when it comes to the best FPS so they need a SP side to compete.

Glad they are doing SP, what else are you going to do when Battlelog is down for 'maintenance' ?

Looking forward to the Coop a lot, sounds fantastic.

single player is good option to get the basics of the game together, but multi-player adds a whole new dimension. Whether it be fps or any other game really.

Playing through SP atm is actually allot better than BC2s apart from AI pushing you around and not retreating when pushing forward.

i reckon they should have added training mode as single-player just like bf2 and made more multiplayer maps etc
