View Full Version : TelstraClear cable customer, repeated lagging, rewinds & disconnects on ON3 servers.

Have no problems on any other Australasian servers, just the ON3 ones which consistently lag every few seconds. Ironically I have a TelstraClear cable connection (Christchurch).
I guess I need to log a job with TC but how do I get the IP address of any of these servers to do a traceroute?

Don't bother yet....wait for the real game to come out & see how things are then...there's only a couple more hours left of the beta availability anyway.
The admin team are still working on getting the server balance right.

It's been said heaps, this BETA has been used to test server capabilities. We are aware of the issues and are working on them.

If that was the case how come you not fix lag issues on BFBC2 servers.
it all been said before and nothing happens

Because we dont care about Bc2 its all about BF3. Much rather On3 work on getting bf3 server perfect tbh

Or contact your isp because its there issue more than ON3, since they are your service provider and all :D perhaps they can shed more light on the subject.

Nothing happens?
I find that interesting to hear.
Because the 5 head admins who all have day jobs, work every spare moment they get on making ON3 what it is.
Nothing happens is just rude, we are always trying to make things better for the community.
This kind of ignorance makes me want to enable the antivirus on the games files so you all know the true meaning of lag.

OK why threaten to ban me when all I ask is a question?? but that still wont solve the problem
I just don't want to lag on a New Zealand server when I;m in New Zealand too much to ask .
I appreciate what you do to keep servers runing
thanks anyway

Its strange how it seems to effect telstra cable more than anyone else... You got a specific time of day that it goes all crazy? hit Simcore up. he has nothing better to do than work these things out and play Beta... Oh wait :D
Fatherted
12th October 2011, 01:35 PM
it also effect people in Timaru as well .You pay extra for the telstra cable
16gb down 2.5gb up
As for time of day it doesn't matter all the same

Im on TCL.
I dont really rep anyone, sponsors or whatever usually because well. they provide what they provide for their reason.
But of all the 5 internet providers ive tried, TCL is the best.
40GB Data
With Full Up/Down Speed
With Phone
I sync with the exchange (TCL gear not telecom) at 16mb - 18mb
Download speeds from on3 stable 1.8mb/s
This year, in all the wet weather etc, i have had 5 - 10 drops..... Thats one per month.. and 80% of those, is me coming home and noticing the light is off and restarting the router, and its back.
Call the customer service, i have mixed results, Good Guy who just fixes it, Evil bastard who cant stop chewing his own phone cord.
Benefit of ON3 = PM simcore.

^^ beat you to it old man, pmed him yesterday :D
So your happy with your service and services supplied up here in Whangarei from Telstra then aye... I been getting 10 drops a night since WC started with telescum... Not a happy camper. get good speeds with them but has just been ridiculous with the amount of drop outs, there that bad that even the wife is complaining about it.

Telstra Cable in Chch and didn't have any issues beyond the standard issues everyone was having with the on3 bf3 servers, so if there is an issue its not for everyone (elemunk is on the other side of town and his is OK also afaik).

New modem time with auto restart? I'd pay lots for that feature :)
My shitty Linksys WAG200g has been going well for about four or so years.
Any decent routers out there that could justify an upgrade with gaming in mind?
Not like 100m --> 1g local is really going to increase the net throughput.

I have heard that telstra in chch been working hard to fix issues that had band aide fixes from earth quakes.
Maybe ring and ask if thye have or are doing work in chch .
I live in chch but not a telstra customer.

Still happening, get a pause every 5 seconds.
You got to love the irony of being able to play fine on hundreds of servers throughout Oceania *except* the ones hosted by my own ISP.
