ON3 Network & Battlefield 3 Servers ready - Remember it's a Beta!

This is just a quick note to let you know that we are pleased to confirm that after a few days and nights of hefty work, we now have beta servers ready to go. We have around 1,000 slots ready to go for the beta launch overnight which from what I can recall from new game releases in recent times, is certainly one of the highest New Zealand has made available, and there is definitely good reason for this.

This said, please be wary that the server files, the load these servers require, and also the general infrastructure of EA is all under scrutiny through this beta. A lot of the client issues you may come across are likely to have been fixed already as the client is a number of days old. We will do our best to react as swiftly as possible to any issues with the servers including the performance and player issues, and we will also ensure we give information around the global status of the EA infrastructure or the beta in general as we get this information.

Final note is in respect to rcon - at present the tools for rcon are quite remedial, and as a result, we may not be able to do much about hackers (who will no doubt come out of the woodwork given the engine changes are likely to be easily negotiated by these twats). We will of course do our utmost to make the gaming experience a good one so we can all enjoy this much awaited release.

Please remember guys, the beta is as much for you as it is for us, it will give us a Hardware Requirements/Slot that is actual, rather than 1 instance per hex core 64gb ram server like some developers 'require'

So we may tweak things as we go, but its all to provide a better server to you later on.

It's not like the old days of patches where an update was hosted on one international mirror by any means :>

To jump on any of the ON3 servers all you need to do is go to "Multiplayer" and search 'on3' this will bring up all 30 servers for you to play on.
