I wouldn't pay for a map that has just used the same assets from a portion of Single Player. However if they remade special forces or something.. Totally keen for that

I would buy Special Forces if it came with grapples etc :)

Prob end up like the last one though not enough people took the plunge and got it to realise if it was the best part of BF2

No, maps are stupidly easy to make compared to content.
Thus without content I won't pay for maps.

Happy to pay for DLC if it is a similar value to BFBC2: Vietnam or BF3: Back to Karkand (and around the Vietnam price).

Here's hoping for a "Back to the Future" remake of BF2142. Destructable titans would be fun...

Especially when they're just remakes of old proven maps.

Also, first of the OP's threads that I can understand. Things are looking up.

It would be interesting to have a... well maybe a dogfight only map sort of like wake airshow, but I would rather have content that had maps that were completely different to each other, with all vehicles etc.

That's where I thought BF2 was great, playing a round of highway tampa, then fushee, mashtur, kubra, songhua stalemate, karkand, dalian plant... They all had something completely different to offer, and, generally you had to change your play style to suit each map.

BC2, although the maps looked different to me, I could just do the same old shit on each map, not having to take into account getting nailed overhead by jets and choppers one one map, then having to deal with a shitload of apc's and tanks on the next. Or a bunch of buggies or a blackhawk hooning around with a squad capturing flags in about 5 seconds.

I'll pay for whatever I want to play. 9 maps seems areasonable number to launch a game with. If they keep charges minimal for further maps later, then I'll buy them without much thought. I can go spend $10 at BK or smoething if I am driving along and feel like a snack without spending more than 6 seconds thinking about it. If a 3 map pack cost $10, Even if I only played played them 30 times each , that's like 10c a round. Why worry, it's a perfectly good business model and one I am happy to support if it gets me new content

I'd buy it.

Moneys only good for spending. I can part with a few bucks for some maps.

Yeah, I keep thinking about the money I spent on the beef2 expansion packs that were a bit popular for a little while, but then was almost impossible to get a game in after a couple of months.

I have been playing a bit of bc2 nam lately, and there only ever seems to be a few servers running it in aus now.

Dr Woomanchu

I got bloody good value from the SF expansion. The next 2 were a little more borderline, but in terms of cents per hour, perfectly reasonable.

Would purchase a 1942 expansion / dlc / whatever in an instant.

Assuming the price is right for the content supplied then I'll be happy to buy it. Charging $14.99 for a couple of maps is a no go imo, like Bell I want actual content (not some shitty hacked up map from the SP game).

TBH, and I think I am not the only one, I will buy every single piece of DLC or whatever they release for BF3. No matter what.

Yawn, less features such as LAN and more DLC. I'm going to be happy with just BF3 plus the Karkand pack from preorder.

If I really enjoy a game I basically pay for any DLC that comes out for it. I LOVE skin and model packs :P

Will buy most things, I don't need a different coloured pair of pants though or a camo'd gun. Anything worthwhile and i'm getting out my CC :D

Not going to happen.

The community has expressed inmense interest for Titan mode. I mean lets face it, its the most fun game-mode ever created in BF games (at least the ones I've played) and its a sin to not have it some shape or form in BF3, but this is called milking the cash cow.

Many polls on the official forum show the community love it, more so than conquest even.

EA's not stupid. With this sort of noise being made, whats the bet the next BF game will be BF2143? or something similiar.

They've now used their new Frostbite engine to redo BF2 which is what the community demanded. Now the community wants a redo of 2142 with the new engine and EA/DICE will oblige... Might have to wait a couple years to see it....sadly

The most fun game-mode ever was sitting on a planes wing on 1942 and seeing how long you could hold on for.

The idea of falling into the water on midway etc made it 10x as fun.

Titan was awesome.

Would love some 2142 maps back, like the 2142 version of Highway Tampa was infinitely better than bf2's so want that back, with Suez and port baravia nom nom nom

Titan Mode: taking a game built on large scale maps and free-roaming and making the game about attacking a small floating building with restricting corridors and nade-spam.

But you know what, I wouldn't mind if they made something stupid like that and we had a 24/7 server so all of the campy types can go off and play there and not infest the good servers.
Sorta like wake 24/7

Codex
20th September 2011, 03:59 PM
In a way yes, but you hardly even had a whole team on a titan at once, you also didn't have to go down the corridors to take out the consoles (shooting the upper console shields worked.) You could play it either way, focus on securing the missile silo's on the huge map (which was larger than CQ) or attack the titan.

Completely ignoring the capturable silos on the land that was spread out accross the whole map...

However, I agree the inside of the Titans should have being larger

So you like the part where you captured things on a big map but not the titan.
They have a game-mode I think you would like its called conquest.

Last time I looked, after the 1.51 (last) patch, there was still an ozzie 64 titan going and a camp G..

..but the patch gave me (and my buddy CTD) so I haven't been back.
