I guess so, it'll be just like it was in BF2 but you have a longer countdown timer before you are truly dead and have to respawn. You can take a few more hits while the timer is counting down and its up to the medic to drag you to cover before the enemy can finish you off. They will give you the option if your waiting to be revived and you don't want to you can click a button and that instantly makes respawn (after a small spawn delay of course)

It will mean once you take someone down you have to finish them off before a medic can drag them into cover. people will have to think about positioning a bit more.

I'm buzzing to know more about this game - its been too long since BF2. The better sort out the air superiority thing. Getting camped in on the aircraft carrier waiting for the round to end was not fun. The thing about BF2 was a single squad could turn the game around if they worked together and had some smarts. You didn't have to be a twitch reflex sharpshooter with 17yr old ninja fingers, you just had to have a brain.

I hope that they do that. It was one of the few things I liked about ETQW, being able to finish off critically wounded enemies. And having it actually take a couple of seconds (or even just one second ffs) to rez someone will stop the medic trains in their tracks.

The thing is why would you need to drag them to cover? is it because of what you guys just said - revive/shot, revive/shot senario OR because there will be no more instant revives and each heal is channelled i.e. take a couple of seconds to patch up a fallen teammate.

The other thing that bugs me is not knowing exactly how hurt you are bar the blood around the screen (nothing wrong with the blood or anything).
As if you don't know how hurt you are or whether you are feeling better. A reasonable visual meter would be handy.

My major problem is that reviving is really a negative, it often doesn't help the team, you get buzzed back into battle, unawares, needing to reload, out of ammo etc. All you get is an extra death and more frustration and negativity. Its not fun.
Sure you get a ticket back but how many times can one person die?

In Bf2 getting revived in danger was awesome, you were stoked to have a crack and you didn't get a death. The enemy got a kill, everyone wins!
It just doesn't make sense to me.

Surely if you're playing for your team, whether you registered a death or not is irrelevant?. Pretty sad being less likely to attack because your death count might go up by one.

The medic reviving you has earned his points, and helped his team. There's no need for the guy who got killed to benefit from the action.

I don't mind the current system, but what they shouldn't have done is put the KD on the scoreboard at the end. It justifies that kind of thinking by implying that KD is a more important aspect of performance than it actually is.

Only way to go.

Jumping into a squad filled room and going NATO on their arse may get you slaughtered after 1 to 2 kills most of teh time, but the odd time you clean up the whole squad makes it totally worth it. Nothing like 2 kills with primary, one with pistol, then knife the last, then get slaughtered by a stray 5 second later while you're still trying to reload everything :D
