Good read if you have a PSP3000 or follow the "openess" of Sony's PSP and PS3 products.

It's only a matter of time before the PS3 itself is as good as a modded xbox (with EvoX and YAMP/XBMC), or maybe a decent linux webserver :)

Well well. Times havent changed that much!

However, as a media-center/movie system/not-used-for-games system PS3 wins out. Put linux on it, a 1.5 terrabyte-External HD and you've got yourself a server/media-center which you could control from the comfort of your own computer

If you're smart enough, you can run VMWare version of the ps3 OS in a great fit of irony, meaning you're running a virtual version of a ps3 on a ps3. Since its Linux you can play Ps3 games, watch movies AND play music all from your ps3 and ALL being outputted to your PC's monitor

Woah. Thats amazing!

Unfortunately I dont have access to a PS3 to try it out

Combine a PS3 linux server with my nexus one's bitconnect and my Myvu's...

Augmented reality HERE I COME!

Anyone still following homebrew and other stuff? I see PSN handed out perma bans to anyone hacking their ps3 over the past few days....They really seem to be going after geoshot and failoverflow.

Personally I never use my PS3 I for playing single player games or offline. If I had the choice between using free games and PSN...well I would probably use....

I'm more than happy to pay for all the PS3 games which I have, not one of them (apart from Nascar 2008) was worth any less than what I paid for it.

Homebrew games are different from pirated games.
