HandofBlood
9th August 2010, 06:00 PM
Happed between 2:40-3:10pm, Boys High School just down the road, PS3 only thing taken, bound to be someone from there on the way home from school.

and I live in Rotorua lol.

Have an alarm but never use it, house is only ever empty for about 45mins around 3 o'clock as someone goes to work as I just finish work.

Thats pretty suss - what are the chances that an opportunist just happens to pick the one time you are away? I'd be picking someone who knows your routine, maybe neighbors.

Bastards!

I hope you get your PS3 replaced quickly. If it was one of the ORIGINAL PS3's (The ones that can play PS2 and PSOne games) then I really hope you get it back.

Na was a slim with a 500GB HDD which was 73% full to.

Just wish Sony had a way to brick the fucker so it renders it useless.

Got the S/N and MAC address so will be helpful for the cops if they ever find it.

Very nice work man! Did you keep your S/Ns in a folder or something? I might do that.

Na had the box in "storage" in the garage, got the S/N on the side of it.

Oh nice, I wish I had enough room in my Garage to store all the old boxes, although I do have many of my PC boxes (mobo, past three graphics cards, etc). Not all of them.

I might make a scrap folder for shit like that, with photos of all my S/Ns.

bad luck mate

who do you have on your friends list? If they're stupid enough to use your ps3 online then you may be able to track them down eh. Especially if you get someone to message them an address so that their ip is logged on a site you set up or something

Im sure someone here could message it with a page setup then you can give the ip to the porice lol

thats why glaziers recommend toughened glass for cat doors though, takes hell of a beaten to try and break in through them (A lot of thieves know that glass with cat door holes is considerable easier to break with less noise than regular windows). I agree with benzene though, sounds ultra sus

Yeah.

Although JB gave me some pretty epic service yesterday/today with a repair order (only took 2 days) the people that work there are usually space cadets.

Live with the old man so hes not hip enough for parties.

My guess is they had seen the empty box in the pile of boxes in the garage at some point.

No data back up since 500gb HDD install which was in it for about 4 month.

A few years ago that would have been the case but these days its cheap and simple, provided your desired outcome is cheap and simple

Putting a face to robbers is the most important part, generally those that enter into these endeavors have already been caught for other things so it raises the chances of them being identified and therefore caught, insurance will cover it but seeing them get done is the most important factor for me.

I have a lot of high value items in my house and while I live in a great area it is a fence and a concrete tunnel under the expressway from a particularly nasty area so we are careful.

Having a dog outside helps though : P
