I agree, maybe i've just been buying steam games too much, but I can't justify paying over $100 for a game, especially when it's sold overseas for around NZ$85

That's more reasonable at $98.
Where abouts can you get a key online?
I'm guessing the games pretty big, it'll probably be worth buying at a store to save on download costs/time.

DSE is $98 aswell. typical really "hey fanboys we know you like it rough, heres the pineapple again" i'll wait 3 weeks to see whats on trademe. I'm guessing lots of people will have finished the campaign, and wont like the reaming they get from the beta players who practised for 8 months.*

Hmm, checked again and its 58us now: http://www.hotcdkey.com/Starcraft-II-PC.html
but because it's a US copy you'd only be able to play on North American servers (NZ copies can do both)

Not entirely true. You cant start the game without an internet connection, but you can still play without one. I keep getting d/c'ed from Battle.net while logged in and it still lets me play the game I am playing or start up another one. A warning window and sound pops-up saying you've been disconnected, but you can still play.

One of the guys in my class was in the beta. There are are large number of noobs in/from beta. For example: one of the top players just spammed Immortals for Protoss. I have found that avoiding Immortals and going straight for Zealot/Collossus is just far more efficient.
Also some of the units have changed from beta to now (Protoss Mothership for example). Nothing big, just 'different'.

I find it interesting how $105 is too much for a game, but take off $7, and $98 is fine.
Not sure how that $7 really makes any difference.

its the magical $100 mark spork
over $100 - its expensive
under $100 - its not a bad price
its a marketing thing that our brains have kind of been taught

I doubt they are a 'top player' if they just spam immortals, Collossus are not far more efficient is it dependant on the situation.
The beta units from the last few weeks of beta are exactly the same and for afew months before that not much has really changed, the same sorts of strats that were used in beta are still viable.

I think it's the principle of the matter. However i't probably due to exchange rates and markups, no one probably made a decision for it to be over $100, it just turned out that way.
But I've seen a general tread of retail games getting more expensive, And I don't like it. Where as online sales have generally been getting cheaper.
However I think a $98 game will sell a lot more then a $102 game, mainly for the perception of it being cheaper.
