Just curious, want to know the best way about his.

So I have a PS3 Slim and my current setup is just HDMI from PS3 to TV so picture/sound comes out of the TV alone.

I would like to have picture to TV but sound out of my mini system but not really sure who to do this?

I've read on some forums that you can have HDMI going in and have RCA cables going out from your TV to mini system and then just change the output settings in your PS3 sound settings but they say it doesn't come out sorround sound?

Another guy said have HDMI and optical cable? But there is no input on the PS3 for the optical cable?

Im noob

/end

Help please

umm im not quite sure.

Maybe you can plug your surround sound into the headphones slot for the tv? There are converters too

you could do it for just speakers but idk about surround

You can switch hdmi into optical audio and dvi, with the proper cable/adapter(like below). Then from there easy stuff. Cheaper way is to connect direct to tv, and use the tv out(most tvs should have rca, while better ones should support digital audio).

Some Stereos and Surrond Sound systems also have the Audio in Audio out plugs in the back of them if all else fails try that

Poos my sorround sound doesn't have an imput for an optical cable... Hmm so looks like my only option is output from my tv....
