Well it's funny how things work out.

We have 30 registrations for the series, and the server is capable of 32 slots through a hack. We would have had 31 but one spat the dummy.

So, here is what is going to happen. All drivers on the list below are registered for the series. The green ones are fully accepted, the orange ones are accepted pending an acceptable performance test. Orange ones are guys that were not in IRT prior to the IGTO announcement, guys that registered with medium interest, and people that have quit the series but then changed their mind at some stage :knife:

I have upgraded the server for this series to reside on the best bracket of hardware we have free atm (which unfortunately probably doesn't mean as much as you hope!), and ask that all drivers join this server for a muck around race in the wet tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 9pm NZT. It won't be on Indy, and you can pick any car you want. This will also allow me to ensure you have access to the server.

We will be performance testing the server, if the server chugs to an anacceptable level then the orange drivers will have to begin to be culled.

I do not forsee this happening, so hopefully this will be a foregone conclusion that all teams and drivers are welcome. I certainly hope this is the case as I do not want to exclude anyone. It is also an excellent opportunity for all drivers to experience a full grid in rain to see how their personal experience is on their current rig. You will be able to tinker with your graphics settings.

So, I will update the server details before tomorrow, please keep an eye on this thread.

Sorry mate I don't mean a personal performance test, I mean a server performance test. If the server is up to handling all 30 drivers then you can all drive, regardless of personal performance. It's purely a hardware test to make sure we can take the whole field without compromising an enjoyable and fluid experience. So yes we need to try and get everyone on the server and then the test will be completed tomorrow.

It will just be a random one, I have no idea which. Probably not one even in the IGTO schedule. The point here is not the race, it's if we can all go round happily.

Monza is quite a good track as it will space everyone out, has high and low speed stuff, and is not the easiest on graphics when raining. Would make a good stress test for both clients and server alike... just my 2ȼ

Remember, it is of the utmost importance that you attend this performance stress test. All you have to do is be on the server and drive a few laps, you do not have to win and you wont have to stay any longer than half an hour if you do not like. You can eat your tea, chat on the phone, watch TV or comb your mother's hair while you drive if you like, I am not interested in how fast you are or if you spin off. I am just interested in getting us all on and moving around the track, in rain.

Server will be put up from about 7:30ish and run in practice mode probably until 9:15/9:30ish. PM me your GTR2 name if you cannot get in to the server and be patient, I will be checking PMs during the night in between other things.

Please please please try to be there at least for 30 mins from 9pm, so we can fill the grid and get a real idea about how this will go. This is a very important stress test and we ask all the people wanting to be in the IGTO to go out of their way to be part of it. If you are busy please try to arrange it so you can be part of this and work around the 30 mins. If only 60% of the field is there we will not really have any idea and will probably have to try again.

Please contact your team mates or friends etc about this, as not everyone will have read it I am sure, and some may forget.

Ahhhhh

Counterintuitively, you need to choose a LAN game, then click "Add IP address" and enter the IP address from above...

THEN the server should show up by itself and you can then Join

You're clicking on "Internet". Click on "LAN Gamne" from the main menu. To the bottom left of the screen will be a button saying "Add IP Address". Click that and put in the IP address as specified above. If the server is up It will show the IRT server, if not a message will say "no Games available"
