you can't spectate the games sorry. Would love to be able to have some sort of Tournament TV, but there isn't one that I have found for COD4.

We are working on getting some games shoutcasted, but that won't be until next year.

Aparently you go into cod4 (multiplayer), turn off the modern warfare thing in the mod option. Then it will change it to cod4 mod or something. Then you just type /demo (demo name) , for example , /demo ICONZtournament#1 etc

Playing back a recorded demo

Unfortunately, the guys at IW haven't made a good job of developing this function in CoD4

Recorded demos are stored in "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos" folder

However, you will need to cut/paste your demos from this folder and paste them into:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\ModWarfare\demos"

If the demos folder doesn't exist, simply create it.

With that done, run cod4 multiplayer and select 'Mods' then 'Modwarefare'

Open up console and type /demo demoname

This will play your recorded demo.

It was well played. One thing when we swapped sides I was expecting the 45sec time to setup weapons etc, but half the team rushed other was in spawn and it sort of didn't go to well but you've had us there, 2nd round we were set :)

It's a shame we didn't manage to get that bonus point.

you should add extra ammo to all the kits aswell, everyone was running out of ammo tonight and it made clutching very difficult.

Usually after you win or lose the round, the next one begins but there is a 10 second round delay then your off.

Currently you finish the round, and you straight back into it with no delay.

that may be your opinion, however it is flawed :D

bf2 is certainly not better than this game, its different and the two cant really be compared, some will like bf2 more and others will prefer cod4.

strats make all the difference in cod4 aswell, i think you havent played enough competitive teams. because if you play someone with a decent strat you will find you wont have a chance no matter how skilled you are.

cod4 requires alot more teamwork and communication between your team, in battlefield its just one commander yelling orders at everyone.

cod4 also takes alot more fps skill than bf2, so alot of average bf2 players wouldnt like it for that reason.

I think COD4 is good game to scrim.

However most of us are from Bf2 I used to play CS/CSS once I played Bf2 I never went back.

Point is being that a lot of us are from Bf2 when Bf3 is released providing it not a epic fail most will go back to it.

I still have not had the rush scrimming COD4 that used to get from having a close intense scrim of Bf2.

Personally i don't think CoD4 will ever be a WCG game, they have cs for FPS,
the cost of flights/accomodation/everything else for 5 more people for one game
is too hard to justify, especially given I have read they are already under financial strain. so to have a cod game there, they would have to replace cs,

strats make all the difference in cod4 aswell, i think you havent played enough competitive teams. because if you play someone with a decent strat you will find you wont have a chance no matter how skilled you are.

cod4 requires alot more teamwork and communication between your team, in battlefield its just one commander yelling orders at everyone.

cod4 also takes alot more fps skill than bf2, so alot of average bf2 players wouldn't like it for that reason.

As you know I'm not in the scrim team for ISF.

I have however helped them out a bit in practice. So have played the PAM mod.

However, I stand by what I said. You'll see in my first point that Isaid the CoD community will stay with the game - just as the CS'ers stay there. However, those of us who came from BF2 will revert to that kind of game.

In my opinion airstrikes an choppers in cod4 are not really a major problem, coming from BF2 where the choppers were controlled by people (insert top pilots name here) they could single handedly wipe out a team in seconds across the whole map not just a small area like in cod4.

Airstrikes you have to earn them unlike BF2 where a guy goes commander an straight away every few minutes has Arty ready to spam.

a. Strictly social
b. mixed (plays scrims, with little effort, because they enjoy the teamwork factor)

Played 1 team last week only just beat them, talked it over and worked out some better strats played the same team a few days later and domintated them. Seen the same thing slutting for other teams. This is one game you cannot just wing it, even against an avg team if your starts are lacking, no matter how good your individual player skill is your in for a surprise.

yeah nade kills arnt really a major problem in scrims, nades are used more to stop people rushing then to actually kill. if your lucky you get random nade kills here and there but they dont often turn the game around.

I like BF2 and CoD scrims evenly, I only play BF2 now when there is a scrim on etc, but still love the larger strats for more players (mainly because I do them all for 10v10), but I also enjoy the 5v5s of CoD. I actually enjoy the planning and execution of strats more in BF2 though.

Having the best strat wont give you the 100&#37; guaranteed win if the players them selves don't have the skill and/or the gamesense to know what is going around them and take appropriate action and a reaction to what is about to happen or come.

Same goes vice versa. If all the 5 players are frikin excellent in skills and game sense but the strat is shit the result would be similar.

I reckon BF2 was more enjoyable than COD4, I thought it flowed better in scrims and allowed for more variety during the entire round. COD4 seems to be a lot of rinse and repeats with slight variations to throw the other team off.

I just look for something bigger with more variety and in my mind cod4 is going in the opposite direction.

I do like the sneaking around business in COD4, that's different for me not being a CS player and quite cool imo.

I think the potentially best scrim game I have ever seen was Project Reality. It's pace suited the engine hit detection, the weapon strength was well balanced, the vehicles & map size made strats varied. I really liked that game.
COD4 may not be a replacement for CS:S but it's pretty similar to play (from memory I stopped playing CS very much before CSS came out)

Shame it was just a mod that wasn't very popular.
