CoD has heaps of connection Dvars and I'm sure tweaking some will help.

I always suggest you change the /rate to 100x your ping (I set mine to 7000, 100x70)

Try typing connection in console and have a look at the dvars that come up and what they do (if you select one and press enter it should give a breif discription of what it does) and then adjust them accordingly!

Try enabling your lagometer (cg_drawlagometer 1) and studying that.

lol you should put your rates on 25000-30000, 7000 is far to low.

CoD doesn't acutally allow over 25000 afaik... It says "any number between 1000 and 25000" . Anyway, it seem very similar to W:ET (all the commands are the same) so I assume they do the same thing, and on W:ET the tip was to set it to 100x your ping, and it seemed to work very well, especially on american servers with a 250 ping.

i see, well you should set it too 25000 then.

if you set it lower it makes you harder to hit, but also makes it harder for you to hit things.

the higher your rates are the better hit reg you get.

Really 0.o, are you sure? Well I'll experiment with it. The sila. dudes have always been better than me, so I'll trust you (for now).

Not sure that can really be dumbed down anymore.

using your theory 10 ping rate would be 1000, a 250 ping would be 25000 that just doesnt work. Most connection's now will be minimum 15000, the big one is more maxpackets set it to high if you have a crap u/l you will lag more.

Server side really should be set max no more than 65-70, thats why servers running 100 get major lag when things like airstrikes come in.

rates of what,

The dvar, /rate.

Also, pyro is right... Packet rate is the thing that is probaby making you lose connection however some servers (like 28thMB) don't allow you to change that (I tried).

rate is proportional to your downstream bandwidth eg: 1.5Mbit = 15000
Setting your rate to 25000 is fine for everyone that connects at over 2.5Mbit. If your connect under 2.5Mbit and set your rate to 25000 there is the chance that when the server is not under full load that it will start trying to use the full 2.5Mbit and lag out the sub 2.5Mbit connection.
As pyro says, rego is more dependent on max_packets than rate but thats a different story all together :P
