And I haven't had as much fun since i first played bf2, infact this is more so, and scrimming is excellent

FYI, Infinity ward (CoD, CoD2, CoD4) develop each even numbered CoD game, while Treyarch (CoD:Big Red One, CoD3) develop the uneven numbered titles. (Hence it being announced/developed already)

So yeh, going off their records, CoD5 will be worse than CoD4 in all likeliness.

2142 was a crap game... not even sure why I hated it so much I just found it horrible to play. I know the sound and feel of the weapons didn't help. The amount of upgrades were annoying as well.

I think the rego of the weapons were decent on single shot and terrible at full auto - hard to remember, shock therapy has removed most of the nightmares.

the player base in NZ, and worldwide is much smaller for etqw than even 2142.

some say it was because there was 'too much of a learning curve', but i don't agree tbh.

many teams such as sila learnt how to play the game effectively, and still didn't enjoy it at all.

2142 failed for so many reasons, main ones for me was that it was a reskinned BF2, EA releasing another version of the game on the same engine as BF2 and still failed to fix the engine for either etc etc

ETQW failed before it started.....would be awesome for a clan match but lacked any chance of getting some decent pub games as the level of cooperation required to win was more than what you could achieve on a pub. Most pub games resulted in a massive camp fest. Whats the point of playing a game if your only enjoyment comes from clan matches and you can't enjoy it in your freetime?

COD4 wins for me, its fast, interesting, requires some skill, numerous game modes and besides the noobtube has no failings to me. Wouldn't worry me if it was running on Model T Ford engine, the games works and I love it :)

I think you will find that most game development starts as soon or even before the previous one is released.

For example as soon as Vice City was released (or actually I think a couple of months before) San Andreas was in development, and GTA IV has been in development since SA came out. LCS and VCS were just money makers.

Dude did you even play cod2? Its nothing like it at all, cod2 was a take off of the quake engine with mods, cod4 is another take of the cod2 engine with more mods.

2142 failed in the fact that sequels are meant to improve on their previous games, 2142 clearly didn't do this as everyone just went back to bf2.

Simple logic would tell you IW, being the original developers, developed the original CoD (therefore CoD is excluded from the deal). And besides, the deal was only made after the release of CoD2.

2142 was ugly, I saw more teamwork and better skill on the BF2 servers. ETQW is a great game to scrim but the pubs sucked ass! Too much teamwork required and you only get that in scrims.

COD4 is an interesting one, people say it is just like CS or CSS... wouldn't know. What I do know is that after only playing 48hrs of the game (according to my stats page) it gets pretty boring quickly. Thank god for clans and scrimming.

Yeah, that's why I keep a couple of similar configs so that I can switch to the other if I screw one up.

Though I always keep 1 shotgun config for a few quick kills when the shipping container level comes up, and before the next level gets voted on. It's a brief good time cutting people down as they reach for F1.
