so anyone willing to share to good tuning/tips?
I'm still still getting red patches during combat activity in the drawfps.
I might have to upgrade. I think I've tried damn near everything else.

I have a fx57 single core. Running at stock speed it keeps up just fine. After all this is only a single threaded game and is more gpu intensive than cpu when it comes to mp.
My thoughts were fuck i need to upgrade anyway so why not try just doing the gfx card (8800gt). And it paid of big time, brought me a another 6 months with my current rig and it only cost me a hundred or so dollars after selling my old gfx's cards.

yeah.. maybe.. I'm not sure its only my gpu's tho. I still have thos 2 7800's
Its definitely suffering tho. It'll run 167fps and then drop to say 40.
I tried a config called dko5.cfg bit its still crap and didnt work probably. PB doesnt like it either

apparently the e2810 intel will oc to 3.7 ghz and they seem cheap as chips. but it means going intel.....scary bogga bogga
I'd kinda like an amd board that will take an AM2 and wait for the Phenom blacks fx's
anyway - i do have a tip for peeps with multiple mp.cfg files.
use the color codes ^number name and name the file the same as the color.
that way you can check from console the name to see it after /exec the file, its actually going.

Which dvars will make me get better performace?
cg_blood 0
cg_brass 0
cg_drawFPS 1
cg_marks 0
com_hunkMegs (Set to half of your computers RAM)
com_maxfps (Set it to the maximum you can get constantly out of these values: 43, 76,125,333.)
r_aaAlpha 0
r_aaSamples 1
r_anisotropy 2
r_displayRefresh (Set to your desktop refresh rate.)
r_drawSun 0
r_gpuSync 0 (Makes some people's mouse lag.)
r_lodBias 0
r_lodScale 4 (Will most likely be illegal, I recommend setting it to 1.)
r_mode 0
r_multiGpu 1 (Gives an FPS boost to some systems even with 1 video card.)
r_picmip 3
r_picmip_manual 1
r_polygonOffsetBias 16 (Will most likely be illegal, I recommend leaving it on -1.)
r_polygonOffsetScale 4 (Will most likely be illegal, I recommend leaving it on -1.)
r_rendererPreference 2
r_swapInterval 0
r_textureMode 0 (Will most likely be illegal, I recommend setting it to 2.)
snd_bits 8 (NOT RECOMMENDED, sound is more important than FPS.)
snd_khz 11 (NOT RECOMMENDED, sound is more important than FPS.)
snd_stereo 0 (NOT RECOMMENDED, sound is more important than FPS.)

Do a search for RAZ's config. On one of my lesser pc's with a 3400 and 6600gt it runs at an average 50fps using that config (but that is used for mainly lanning purposes) and pb safe. The only maps it drops below that are wet work and backlot... in places.
Also try dropping your shaders back to 2.0
seta r_rendererPreference Shader Model 2.0
There's more if I can remember them.

If you are going to be changing client side settings, just be aware when playing on tournament servers of pb DVAR restrictions. Check your console on connect and it should be obvious as the server will be "telling you" If it is not so obvious, drop to console and issue "\pb_cvarlist" This will return all DVAR restrictions and tell you if you are compliant (line by line)
It's just that some DVAR FPS tweaks might be considered exploits. Previous examples were using overbright models etc.
