sniper kits

just a question, does anyone else have problems with this kit getting headshots or even landing hits, it is random some nights I'll have no problem killing but today I shot at someone 5 times while they were still no headshots or hits, it was like that all day >:( the kit was the R700, I get ping of around 50 so it can't be that, any ideas ?

i have no problems im on 50ping also :/ are you leading them? just chuck a nade at them, you can't get lagged with that.

Yeah I get that too. some days it's good, some days it's just plain shit. The barret isn't so bad with lag.

Have the same problem with the rifles/snipers in cod2 sometimes, I rage a bit, and carry on playing.

Yep get the same issue as well, when it happens i just change kits.... Or play BF2 with its awesome hitreg...That makes me feel better

Tried using the barret...with extra damage perk. Get hits but no kill. It made me rage :<

Yeah, I noticed that they would be standing still i would aim for head press shift and then shoot and it still wouldnt hit them

hitreg seems to be getting worse everytime i go on. more and more i find myself having to aim ahead of the target where before i aimed on em and the bullets hit without a problem

hah same. gave up cod4 for the weekend. sniping is fuckn hard on cod4, dunno how all these dicks get 1 shot kills on me, i've tried all the sniper weapons and none seem 2 give me the satisfaction of 1 shot.

I think it's a known bug in the game. There is word that it will be fixed in one of the patches.

your like me.. i landed two perfect head shots and they turned around one burst of there m4 and im dead.. next time i run into them unscoped and i kill him one shot... it was total wtf

I was using the dragonuv today. It seemed to be okay got quite a few kills with it. Think ya just gotta be crouching or proning and holding shift. Although you can often rapid fire at someone close range standing and kill them

lol, snipers are useless in any game. Their only use in real war is to kill the moral of enemy soldiers which in a computer game doesn't work because no one really cares about someone with level 55 dying.

not true, during the crysis MP beta i found the sniper rifle to be extremely effective, and when you ping a guy twice trying to dash across open ground it makes them think twice about the next time

I find them useless in every game barring CoD2. I used to use them a lot up close and personal just for the sheer fun of it.

a) Snipers are useful in games that try to imitate real life. CS, CSS and Americas Army let you use sniper rifles....and GOD THEY PWN. If used correctly they can take out a total team or at least make their strat go off the window.

b) In COD4 snipers are great for defense....when the fuck would you use a sniper as offense? (i'm thinking S&D here). Snipers covering bomb targets are lethal and can play a REALLY important role.

c) In BF2, sniper kits are cool for pub play but nobody use them in scrims (at least speaking on behalf of tsw/oga) simply because of the nature of BF2. Everyone jumping up and down when capturing a flag + no hitreg + GA ladder LAG issues with NZ players...fuck, last scrims I played I was stuck on 200+ ping.

So...sniper kits are cool and useful depending on the game, map and game mode (eg deathmatch vs S&D). And finally, sniper kits are WAY BETTER in maps with grass as you get the gillie (sp?) suit, which really works...I mean I have been standin over snipers sooooo many time without noticing that is not even funny (or I'm blind, which might be true :p)
