Ok I had a look at the draw and I used to know the BF2 teams but I only recognise a few of the clans playing.

Just wondering if people would be kind enough to post which game the came from. I'm curious to know whether you're a CS clan, CoD2, 2142, Bf2, WoW, whatever...

The team tsw put together are all ex BF2 players. I see sila, sila2, TEABAG, BAM, ISF, 9th, Affliction, DC all from BF2. I know Skullz are from FEAR... but who are all these others?

I know ~N~ is CoD2, right?

9th was founded shortly after BF1942 was released, and has played competitively through BF'42, BFV and BF2, making pretty much the oldest NZ Battlefield clan still around.

|28th|MB have some original members who played CoD. The majority of the clan (we have 50 odd members although not all active) then joined from UO (an expansion of CoD). Then more joined from CoD2.

And yes, ~N~ is from CoD2 but again, a lot of them played the original CoD (or Vanilla as it's now called).

I know skullz from ETQW (fuckin great game!) they were top 3 at least. they won the FEAR comp. mixed team half aus half nz with one WoW player. :disappoin

CoD4 is a completely new game and those without CoD2 or CS experrience will require more of a steep learning curve. although I noticed a lot of the BF2 players I'm familiar with doing friggin well.

A lot of shit thrown at BF2 players because of the bullshit reg and vehicle whorage but I think we'll holding our own out there.

I won't be joining a team until I get word from uNity (BF2 clan) on whether we're going to have a team or not. We've got 3 guys (inc myself) playing it a fair bit and another with the game. A number of others will be getting shortly.

As I keep telling people, the teams were put in the pools based on the order they signed up. There was no picking what teams go where.

GM. signed up first, Pool A
Sila. signed up second, Pool B
=[A]= was third, Pool A
and so on.

Now you can't say that was done in an unfair way.
In my opinion if I had picked the pools based on who I thought was better, etc - THAT would have been unfair.

The pools are final, they have been picked in a totally fair, unbias way and I am not going to change them sorry. TBH I'm getting a little annoyed with all the "oh it's unfair we are in that pool" stuff that is going on. I did NOT select which team went where, they were 100% based on the order your team signed up.

I've been labelled a cheat because {DD} (my clan which I have NOTHING to do with in regards to this tournament) is in the "easy" pool. And then I have others saying that the same pool is too hard..... I just can't win.

If your team is in Pool A, you are in Pool A. If you are in Pool B, you are in Pool B - that is not going to change.

Yeah this is right, you play every other team in your pool, the top 4 teams from each pool move through to the quarter finals, then semi's, then finals.

I don't think the pools are unbalanced at all. However, there is something I would like to see happen. Sila have a team in each pool, fair enough, but is there any way to stop them from using all their best players in both pools? Say Sila2 get knocked out, and they use those players in Sila1... is this allowed? Is there any way to lock the teams? What do Sila themselves think about it?

I have a list of all players for the teams and if a player turns up for a game that is not on the register, then they cannot play. A player also cannot be registered for more than 1 team.

Besides all the teams here come from various games, BF2, COD2? etc etc so how is Hazard meant to seed the teams when they all come from different backgrounds and could be an unknown quantity

the issue some have is completely justified,

seeding is used for a reason.

i feel sorry for all the other teams in the B pool, because its just a
race for 4th position really (sila, ~n~ and [z] aside).

the 3 above mentioned teams have scrimmed nearly every night since
the games release, and from what i've seen, are miles ahead of any
other teams atm.

i think the way hazard has sorted out the pools is the fairest method at this point in time, theres no vastly better solution (at least that doesnt involve magic and wizardry)

of course im not an idiot and i do believe in this case the pools are a bit skewed but thats just an opinion based on what limited info i have
