timeout error

i had a quick look, didnt see another thread with same probs, but..


is anyone getting connection timeout on all servers? it says something like "waiting for key code authorisation" then just gets to 11 and fails..


help plz

its normal just keep trying to connect, sometimes it can take 5 or more tries to get on a server. its something to do with the master server.

First time I /connect to any server I timeout. Second try I join pretty much straight away.

Have friends who have to try 4-5 times for every server though - you aren't alone!

it usually takes me about 3-4 tries. and at one stage it was saying "key coe in use" :eek:

took me 45mins to join a server on the weekend. sucked.

i think the game must be too popular - taking out the master servers...

I said this in the last 'connection problem' thread but obviously no one noticed.

Open the console (~) on the server browser screen.

Type:
cl_ConnectionAttempts 60

Hit 'Enter'

Close console and join a server.

- Unless there is a file you can write this to, you will have to enter it every time you open COD4.
