Please give me your honest opinion whether I will be able to play this game on low and get ok frame rate (50-60).

I have an AMD 3200 2ghz processor, 2 gigs of ram and a GeForce 6600. Asking here because you guys have played and know what kind of fps you need to be competitive.

Thanks :)

imo try get a cheap dual core 939(or whatever cpu your mb supports) 3800+ or better cpu for now and run the gfx on low, then when the new 8800GTs come out and prices drop get a better gfx card on the cheap.

I'm playing with Intel P4 3Gh single core and 7600GT (3000ish 3dmark06) and it plays pretty well with on mid to low settings without having to drop the res right back. I say get it and play it, should be playable and then will be bloody good after you spend $1500 on an upgrade.

the game runs better on my machine than BF2 does... which is kinda weird actually.

the only thing my machine has issue with is the smoke grenades. drops down the fps to like 50ish.

its not anywhere near as intensive as crysis. But thats a good thing - you get kicks ass game play instead of individually coloured blades of grass.

so what does he mean by this..
I'd say either he means the 1GIG ones, which are GTS's not GT's, or he is very behind in the tech news.

They have made the game run really well and still added nice grahics its more GPU hard then CPU I have Q6600 with a 8800Gt and Snake has single core AMD FX with a 8800Gt and hes get just about the same FPS as me.

Guess it does not use dual cores which is good for people with older rigs.

Yer this is my rig

Motherboard : Asus A8n sli deluxe
CPU : AMD FX57
RAM : 2Gb DDR500
GFX : 8800gt
Audio :XFI extreme music
PSU : 600W
Harddrive : 4x120gb raid striping 1x 200gb
Monitor : 24" widescreen LCD

I just brought the 8800gt on friday. I was a bit hesitant thinking the cpu will bottle neck. But its the best money i have ever spent on my rig. Going from running it on 1280*1024 on low settings getting 20-50 fps. Now with every thing on high and running it at 1900*1200 with no aa I get 50-90fps and it only ever drops to 50 when theres a mean gun fight. Fuck im so stoked.

I think godless, if u oc the fuck out of ur cpu and brought a 8800gt u will run it sweet as. Its differently more gpu hungry rather than cpu.

I have the following:

athlon 3000+ 2.0 ghz prrocessor
2 gb hynix (aka shit) ram
a radeon 9800 (no not a pro just a crappy 9800)

and it runs fine.... so if ur card is the same u shud be able to play it on lower settings... very very cool game:sly:

You wont be able to turn up all the bells and whistles but it will still look/play good with alittle tweaking.

Just be a man and play with your 6600GT.

That's what I'm doing, and I get the mean 20-25fps at minimum everything, 800x600res. :(

I seem to be having the reverse problem. Not liking my machine at all really, evey thing off and on low Meh. The joys of the 6800 Ultra (agp) Smoke grenade's all most stop me dead HA HA.
Bf2 runs like water, every thing on.
Would like to turn the res down but the Hud get so big that that chat, trys to stab me in the left eye if peolpe use more than two words.
I see at the start of the round one of the messages says no Hud Is that an Perk or can you set the hud size somewhere?? Would love to know this, Thanks.

Really liking the KOTH style.

I have :

cpu: 3200+
ram: 2gb
gpu: 7600gs

ran it on the default settings, but bumped the res up to 1024x768 and it ran pretty well. Chugged slightly when someone smoked in the middle of a firefight, didn't notice anything else. I just wanted to get in and play yesterday, so I couldn't be bothered with settings. I'll have a muck around today and see how far I can push it:bigglasse

Change them one at a time and persevere. I got mine to change eventually. Leave AA alone. It seems to cause this the most.

Im down to 1 gig of ram atm since one of my sticks is fragged. The game can be a really laggy at some points even on low settings, which sucks given I have c2duo and 8800 lol. But now that I have the game I dont want to have to take my RAM out to have it or exchanged since its so addictive!

So by the looks of it here it runs pretty well on older machines, but if you dont already (most coming from BF2 would i assume) Id reccomend going for 2 gig ram.
