also for those tweakers here a list of all the commands
by adding con_restricted=0 to your System.cfg file, you can now use all the various Crysis commands in the console
theres so many that they are too big to fit in the window so they are in the attached text file.

You cant do light rays or 3d waves in dx9 microsoft said. That sorta thing is only possible in dx10 Vista!
Not anymore!!!
download the attached file and extract the folder and put it in your
C:\Program\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Config
make sure you back up the previous file just in case.
And when ingame set all your settings to high
heres some screenshots.
So you get all the dx10 features like sun rays, higher textures and 3dwaves!

Just tried it out, its close but feels like its missing some of the finer detail.
But its very hard to tell, i would need another machine running it in dx10 to confirm whats missing

Heres how to make some pretty cool screenshots.
Set con_restricted = 0
e_screenshot_height x
e_screenshot_width x
e_screenshot_file_format tga
Then when your ready to take the pic type e_screenshot 1 into the console

One thing that gets me is when I look at the sand it's almost completely white. I can only put my shader level on medium or it's not playable. It's got such a high contrast that I can't even see my cross hair. When lighting is on high, the sand looks real (kinda grayish). Do you guys know of a way to reduce the sun light reflection off the sand or something?

Oh nvm I fiddled with the brightness/contrast/gamma levels and made it better.

So, anyone tried the chopper yet? It's hard to get used to if you're used to the BF2 choppers.

I found it fairly easy, of course crashed it but yea I got it going easy enough. A lot easier than Arma.

Look for actionmaps.xml under my docs.
Near the bottom you will find this. Nothing there seems to change the mouse invert but what you can do is jump in a copper, bring down the console and change cl_mouseinvert. But remember to change it back once you have finished flying :)
Edit: i could be wrong about that invert bit, I think ive done something but not sure what and its now flying perfect for me.
Edit again: Im talking crap, think i need sleep :)

Good mod that DX10 one cheers killer. Makes it look real sweet on my 7900gtx. Lags like a beast though. Halves my frame rate.

Some tips for getting the most out of your card - well at least a 7 series.
I can run...
1440x900
Text = high
Object = Med
Shadows = Low
Physics = High
Shaders= Low
Vol Effects = High
Game Effects = High
Post Proc = High
Part Qu = High
Water = Med
Sound Q = High (haven't fiddled with this yet)
I get about 30-100fps. 30ish in firefights. Quite playable.
Turning up shaders kills my fps even when everything else is on low.
Shadows is a killer too, but more just feel laggy rather than kills fps, same with the water.
I would be interested to know if this is the same on the 8 series too.

Has anyone found a way to get AA without having to turn up the shaders?
Or...has anyone found a good fps tweak that is legal for multi player?
