a recent interview at gametrailers delivers some new info,don't know if you gusy knew this,but i didn't.

Person interviewed:grant collier(infinity ward studio head)

Info:

COD4 the ps3/360 version will be the same,supporting 16 players online.
pc version will be the same as consoles,but on the box it will say 32 onine players running on dedicated servers,however Grant did mention that the max is not 32 players,in fact he gave no maximum,he only said,you can have as much players as your bandwidth can handle...mmmm wonder what that means in real terms.He also said tehpc version will ship with PB....do i need to stress my dissapointment,i know pb is goodish,but it kicks for no reason,has problems with firewalls and for one,does not stop cheaters!(bf2.2142 anyone...)

PB actually works well to stop hackers, it cant stop the ones that write their own hacks but it does stop the majority of downloadable hacks. if this game shipped without PB support things would be A LOT worse.

Unfortunately PB is probably the best anti-hack solution out there at the moment.
Another good thing about COD4 is the "Kill Cam" feature - if someone is getting BS kills, the Kill Cam will show them very clearly.

PB issue is that it is re-active and not pro-active, unless they know what digital finger prints to look for, it's pointless. There are more than enough tutorials out there on how to deploy code that PB can't scan for.

The best anti-hack solution is not to produce 1/2 finished games with code the equivalent of swiss cheese.
