Im with xtra, not by choice, but because paradise doesnt cover the area Im in, so anyways, recently i've been getting problems where i get constant, random disconnects. anyone else get this or have suggestions?

I also lose ppp status randomly and also lose sync randomly

I get the same. Used to get it once and a while, now get it a few times a night.
If I look at the noise on the line, it jumps from about 12db to about 12,000,000db.

I've switched ISP, due to kick in tomorrow morning. Will be interesting to see if the problem still happens on another ISP. I'll let you know.

thing is its only started happening recently, like in the past two weeks? perhaps i've been with them a month and theyve decided "right, we've secured him, downgrade his service to make room for a new one" or perhaps its something else?

Only reason I went with xtra is because as I understand it (which I don't really), other than telstra everyone else just rents telescams lines so they get screwed around alot.

im on the Go Large plan.. stuck on a 400kbps line..
talked a help desk guy ther and he says " we don't know what exactly the problem is, so we don't know when we can fix it. But our team is on it.."
And i'm still paying 49$ for this sh*t.. :anger:

My ping does go up to 100+ on ICONZ server sometimes.. never use to happend..

Same time frame/thing happening here, though I'm with ihug. Have been dropping at least once per match for all but one of the teacup games >.< Dropped for two hours tonight and missed tonights match altogether.

Pity cable doesn't cover your area.

Xtra just sucks straight up. Why do you think We have only just got 7mb Broadband while Autralia has been on 24mb broadband for some time now. Its because of Xtra...

They've finally fixed my line.. I use to get 100+ ping on ICONZ servers from time to time.. But its all working fine now.. and the bandwidth is awsm.. I've been downloading at 400kB/s using uTorrent.. :asian:

I have a similar problem - only thing is that it isn't random.
At 11pm every night my adsl crashes, sometimes for a minute, sometimes for much longer. Also does it around 4pm but I'm normally at work then so it doesn't effect me.

Spoke to Xtra, and they said it wasn't there fault it was mine. Now although I do have to use an extension cable to get to the phone point, if it was that that causes it surely it would be at random times, not the same time each and every day.

Anyway, got a technician coming out to fit a new phone point in my study, and hopefully a splitter, and we'll see if that helps my d/l and u/l speeds and also with the disconnects.

Hahaha, My Connection is useless when connecting to any other servers except ones in Autralian and New Zealand. Anywere else I would be better off on Dial up... Xtras soultion was I should buy one of their new $180 Routers and that *may* fix the problem is what they said to me.

How the hell would a Router affect my connection to an overseas country?? lol
