Hey guys... been fun playing with you all (even though I suck, too new at this)... was wondering if anyone has any idea whats up with some issues I've been having:

Me and my brother both play BF2142 (ShadoStinger.. much better than me lol)... during the day there are issues where I get lag spikes, which result in it saying "There is a problem with your connection"... sometimes its every few seconds, sometimes its every minute... and usually occurs right when im about to headshot someone, then ends when im dead...

Nothing is downloading when I am playing... on Orcon ISP, 3mb/s connection... No other games have trouble... I seem to be able to play ok in Gamearena (eww...), but ICONZ and Xtra have the above issue. I've heard other people say it's something to dow with Xtra, meanwhile others don't have any problem with it.

I appreciate any help... feel free to speak as technologically as you wish, I'm very computer literate.

p.s. when i die, its because of lag... yeah... :multi:

edit: usually isn't bad in the evenings.

Sounds like the most logical solution tbh. ^

I have similar problems joining recoil servers for CSS, I just think its the connection to the ISP and different paths they take I suppose, I can play iconz with a ping of 90 yet I got to recoil and have a ping of 400. Try running a tracert and pass it onto your ISP and see if there is anything they can do to help.

I admit now, I'm fairly noob about this stuff, so if I'm wrong please, someone, correct me.

Think I found out what it is... My game runs at low FPS which makes it VERY difficult when fighting, so I got a program to dedicate more resources to BF2142 which made it *almost* run fast enough, but it took the bandwidth from my network and devoted it to BF2142, which stopped it transferring at a fast rate. Thanks for the helpful replies (mainly Devastar).
