Doesn't BF2 require a minimum of 1GB ram?

i have the same problem - P4 2.8, 1gig ram, 9600xt video card. it happened in the demo so i though that it could just be the demo but if your have the same problem maybe not

more ram might help you - another 512 to 1 gig might help it

dude get a whole new pc and next time you buy a game that is apparently as resource hungry and 2142 check the RECOMMENDED system requirements. if you machine is not up there then forget about it :sunnies:

*edit* ok so maybe not a whole new PC but def get some more ram.

Sounds like a video card driver issue. Whenever I load in to the game after about a minute of play it freezes up for about 5 seconds then is fine, it got better/worse depending on what driver set I use. I have a 9600XT card.

I'm currently using the Omega Driver 3.8.221 set (Catalyst 6.02), Omega Drivers are the ATI drivers with all the settings set to optimal and finely tuned for game performance. I recommend giving them a try.

They can be downloaded from: http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Nah, can't be bothered, does the job ok without me tampering with it. I have a bad habit of fiddling with things and breaking them, so now I work on the principle "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
