Does or will 2142 have its own ROE? Can we assume the BF2 ROE applies in most situations, ie commanding from vehicles?

I know that officially, there is NO ROE.
Servers will have to implement their own rules for the moment.

Well i hope iconz implements some kind of "don't move the titan dickweed rule". really starting to piss me off.

Why, shouldn't the commander be supporting his troupes with the titan?

Because it lags the whole game making it unplayable

I don't see why the BF2 ROE shouldn't apply to BF2142..

Ok...what os ROE, its probably obvious, but I can't figure it out.
Secondly, the titan needs to be moved, I'd rather it moved into a position where I can launch from the pods to close to capture site. If the titan is still at the base, I'm lucky if I can reach one!

ROE = Rules of Engagement. A series of rules for playing the game by.
At this stage we are only implementing a "use common sense" rule.
I don't want to have a mile long list of rules you all need to learn in order to play on the servers.
Things like moving the Titan are part of the game and we cannot and will not take any action against that. It may be a pain in the rear end, but for now we will just have to live with it. EA are meant to be addressing it in up coming patches, but we'll wait and see about that.
We are working on a 32 player Titan server which should help reduce the lag issues. Just having some fun and games with that at the moment however, which is why it is currently running Conquest.
As for commanders in vehicles, things like Assault Jelo's, Walkers, Tanks, etc - the commander shouldn't be in these tearing it up the entire round. But in saying that, I don't think you or I want another situation like we had when the rule was applied to BF2.
Basically if a commander is using these and it is actually stopping the rest of the team from working properly, then simply ask the commander to play the game (and ask nice :P). If he/she doesn't want to play nice, then I will issue a warning to that player if needs be.
With house rules on these servers, my goal is it keep it simple and keep it fun. There may be times as the game evolves that we may need to enforce rules, but these rules will always be community driven.
If you have a suggestion or see a need to have a rule in place, then please let me know. I will look at any serious request and see if there would be benefit and support for the suggested rule.

My request is that commander needs to command. If the commander is not commanding, ie, putting up UAV's, issuing orders to squads, talking on voip, scanning for enemy troops and bombarding the enemy with arty, and is instead going solo in a vehicle, then they get warned.

Nice sensible stuff there Hazard.
Re the commander in assets, the common sense rule is by far the best policy. I was commanding for the first time yesterday or Sunday, and our walker wasn't being used, so I used it a couple of times and gave it up as soon as someone else wanted it - made it my job to guard the outpost as well.
We ended up winning quite easily - thanks Switch and blip :rnr:
Another thing guys and girls - SQUAD UP..!!!!!

Yes we need to stop the commanders from moving the titans as it lags the servers out.
In which might be a ban.
Its bloody hard try to kill someone on the titan i was going through walls last night.

Isn't moving them part of the game? If so it wouldn't be a good idea to ban moving them - EA need to sort out the lag issues more than ICONZ need to ban people who move them.

You would also think people would have general politeness not to move them seeing as it ruins the game for pretty much everyone.. :\

Most ppl dont know tht lag is caused by movment of the titan.. I was playing on Xtra server last Sat.. the server was lagging hard out.. (The titan was on the middle of the map..)
So I thought it was just a shitty xtra server..
may be Hazard could add a msg to the announcer.. (assuming it has one.. ) "Suggesting" commanders not to move the titan..??

you cant make people stop moving the titan that would definately be against ROE, even suggesting it might be dodgy, but then again how do u suggest to 90% ofn the community who dont visit boards? most i assume wouldnt bother reading a lengthy discussion of titans in the welcome

Sorry guys, but as mentioned there will be no rules against moving the titans.
Let's wait and see what happens in terms of patches to resolve/help this issue.
Also there will be a 32 player Titan server running very soon. From what I hear Titan in 32 player mode suffers from very little or no lag problems.

ivebeen playing titan mode all day and the lag which used to make the game unplayable seems to have subsided. sure it slows down sometimes when alot of people are attacking titans (by alot i mean everyone) but otherwise there is no problem.
titans should always be able to move.
another idea is to stop titan movement after the shields have been taken down
