1. When I'm driving the tank (or any other vehicle) can I switch from the big cannon to the machine gun on top? As in, cycle the weapons of the vehicle?

2. How to I get rid of the start up movies? Which directories and which files to I remove?

3. When snipering a moving target, do I aim for the target or just in front of the taget? Can't seem to hit much... Also, how much damage does the sniper rifle do? Is it like the AWP in CSS?

4. How do I display my ping and FPS in my HUD (like in CSS)?

5. Can I create a new soilder without losing my rank and unlocks?

1. Of course! use F1, F2, F3 ect. to switch positions.

2. C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\Movies - rename them from .bik to .bk or whatever.

4. don't think you can display your ping on your HUD, but to show your FPS pull up the console (~ key) and type renderer.drawFPS 1

No idea about AWP cos I don't play CSS. But a headshot is a one shot kill.
Get the scope upgrades, they make a massive difference.
and yeah, you gotta lead a little depending on how fast the target is moving.

and ping shows when you hit TAB, it is next to your name

switch places with F keys

delete ur movies folder where u installed 2142

I've been playing as a squad leader a fair bit and have been finding that the commander isn't giving any orders (occasioanlly, some commanders are quite good), how can I create orders to give to the rest of my squad, things like "attack this silo/capture point", "defend this silo/caprture point". At the moment it seems I can't get any squad leader points unless I am accepting orders from the commander, and if he's not doing his job, then I'm missing out.

Press the Capslock key to bring up you Squad screen and from there you can right click on points and issue order from there.

You can also do it by pointing your crosshair at a point, hold the T key and select an order from there.

I didn't see this one get covered, so presuming you installed to the default directory delete or rename the files in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\movies
