Last Friday EA NZ changed the NZ date to October 20th - this Friday.

We expect to have our stock arrive tomorrow and will be shipping out all orders so people receive their game on Friday. If they change their minds again - we will ship it earlier :D

From what I say the official release time works out to the middle of the night on the 19th, so while release is 19th the shops won't be open thus the 20th...

The guys over at Battlefield2.nl are reporting today that the retail DVD version of Battlefield 2142 requires a patch to play online. Here's what they had to say:

Heads-up for everyone who ordered the DVD version of BF2142. Battlefield 2142 needs to be patched before online play can begin. The EA downloader version already has this patch build in.

This new patch is not yet available on EA Downloader, unlike the messagebox says. We expect the patch to be available at the same time as the EA Downloader version of Battlefield 2142 is available for online play.

also...it will be playable out of the box, just not online. and as someone much smarter than yourself has pointed out, it's not without prescedence. 1942 had to be patched on release.


and just in case you missed my point earlier, better to have a patch on release than to ignore it.

and the reasoning for that was that the easiest way to fix it would be to roll back, but that would have rendered the the AF booster useless. there fore fucking off every single person that paid money for it. it was unfortunate and extrememly agravating granted, but unless you you have a workable solution how they could've avoided it, your wasting you time frothing at the mouth about it here


if you feel so strongly about dices QC, dont buy the game. it's REALLY simple. then you can spare us your agro and yourself a probable stomach rupture

i count myself as an established forum member as i have been posting here since the days of the BF2 demo, went on to help found ISF and have stuck with ICONZ through the good and the bad. i try to treat people with respect (sometimes i trip) and try to add to conversations rather than just slinging shit at anyone

Kill3r was a problem and has made huge steps to rectify past mistakes (and all credit to him), i suggest you think about doing the same
